Brian E. Fleisig, Esq.

Brian Fleisig’s practice focuses on matrimonial issues where he devotes a substantial portion of his practice to family law working proactively and cohesively with clients to resolve all aspects of the client’s family matter including custody and parenting time issues, alimony and child support and sophisticated equitable distribution issues.  Mr. Fleisig’s philosophy is to resolve each family law case with a priority on meeting and exceeding the client’s goals and expectations with integrity and experience.  While Mr. Fleisig has demonstrated substantial success in accomplishing these goals through negotiations and advantageous settlements, he has also achieved significant results for his clients in the courtroom through trials and hearings.  Mr. Fleisig has represented a wide and diverse clientele including medical doctors, Wall Street professionals, corporate executives, contractors, teachers, professors and their spouses.  Mr. Fleisig has the knowledge, skills and experience to resolve all aspects of your family matter.  Mr. Fleisig is also a speaker on a variety of matrimonial topics and has participated in the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education seminars including being a presenter at the New Jersey Association for Justice’s Annual Boardwalk Seminar on family law where he was invited to speak on issues including Parental Alienation.  Mr. Fleisig has also served as a panel member for the Family Court’s Matrimonial Early Settlement Program.

Complimenting his litigation experience in matrimonial issues, Mr. Fleisig also handles civil and criminal litigation as well as real estate and business transactions and corporate law. His practice also includes applicant representation in planning and zoning applications, prerogative writ and administrative hearings.

Mr. Fleisig’s legal career commenced in 1992 as an associate at a mid-size law firm in Bergen County, New Jersey where he handled a variety of family, civil and criminal litigation matters with an emphasis on family law. He also gained extensive experience in drafting and negotiating all forms of matrimonial, corporate and commercial agreements including matrimonial settlement agreements, purchasing, M&A, manufacturing, out-sourcing, off-shore, licensing, employment and compliance agreements. In 1999, he became a partner of that firm which achieved the highest possible rating by Martindale-Hubbell (the preeminent legal authority on attorney ratings). Upon becoming partner in 1999, Mr. Fleisig was named the head of the matrimonial department while also overseeing aspects of the firm’s transactional, corporate, criminal and civil litigation departments. In addition, he represented and successfully defended individuals and corporate clients against numerous state and federal regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, the United States Department of Transportation, New Jersey Division of Taxation, New Jersey Medical Board, New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, United States Environmental Protection Agency, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, United States Department of Labor and the United States Corps of Engineers.

Mr. Fleisig previously served as a municipal court judge, prosecutor and public defender. He has also served as special counsel to the Kearny Municipal Utilities Authority and has sat as counsel for a municipal planning board. He has also been appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court as an investigator for the District IIB Ethics Committee.

Mr. Fleisig is a proud military veteran having served as an officer in the United States Army and the New Jersey Army National Guard from 1988 through 1998. As a former officer in the Army and Army National Guard, he continues to be involved with the American Legion and as a member of the 104th Army Engineer Battalion Association.

Mr. Fleisig received a bachelor of arts degree from Rutgers College in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law in 1992. Mr. Fleisig also graduated as a “distinguished” officer from the United States Army Officer Engineering School in Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 1999.

Mr. Fleisig is admitted to the state and federal courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
